A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. The Baltimore metro area has no shortage of bars and restaurants offering happy hour. Now, a local winery is joining the mix. Today <a href="http://www.boordy.com/home" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Boordy Vineyards</a> kicks off <a href="http://www.boordy.com/events/events-at-boordy" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">'Good Life Thursdays,'</a> a weekly event that combines dinner, drinks and music with the local produce you'd expect from a farmer's market, according to its website.  The Hydes winery, located just up Harford Road on Long Green Pike, is hosting the sustainable happy hour from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays until Sept. 6, the website states. A different musical act will be featured each week: tonight Chalk Dust Trio will perform. Vendors include <a href="http://www.gunpowderbison.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Gunpowder Bison</a>, <a href="http://www.kilbycream.com/home.php" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Kilby Creamery</a> and <a href="http://www.onestrawfarm.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">One Straw Farm.</a> Hamilton-based favorite <a href="http://bmoreclementine.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Clementine</a> will provide dinner options and of course, the Boordy wine will be flowing.
