Drug-Laced Candy Sends 4 Baltimore County Students To Hospital: Report

PARKVILLE, MD — Four students at Parkville Middle School were sent to the hospital Wednesday after school officials said they ingested drug-laced candy given to them by a classmate, according to multiple reports.

Baltimore County Police spokesperson Trae Corbin told the Baltimore Sun it appeared the students ate something containing THC, the main psychoactive component in marijuana.

School officials said none of the students were seriously injured.

Parkville Middle School Principal Micah Wiggins sent an email to parents addressing the incident, according to a WBAL-TV report.

"We realize this may be upsetting to our students and want to make you aware of the situation," Wiggins wrote in his letter. "Our counselor will be available to meet with any students to provide additional support."

The Baltimore County School District and police are investigating.
