Strip Club, Motel Sold At Auction In Baltimore County: Report
A strip club and the neighboring motel were sold at an auction. The future of the Baltimore County site is unclear.

MIDDLE RIVER, MD — A gentlemen's club and a neighboring motel were sold at a recent auction in the Middle River-White Marsh area, auctioneers reported.
Auctioneers at A.J. Billig & Co. said an anonymous buyer bought Excape Nightclub and the 24-room Motel Carlton for $1.96 million on July 10. The property lies on 3.61 acres at 10025 Pulaski Highway in an industrial stretch of eastern Baltimore County, the auctioneers said.
The Baltimore Business Journal reported that roughly 50 prospective buyers and spectators attended the auction at the former strip club property.

"Bidding was lively, with five parties actively participating," Charles Billig, principal at A.J. Billig & Co. Auctioneers, told the BBJ. "The total contract price was a little under $2 million, including the buyer's premium. The family that owned the property, and had for several decades, seemed pleased with the outcome, if a little somber about the turning of a multi-generational page."
The BBJ said the sale included the complex's seven-day liquor license.

Auctioneers said the site is zoned for roadside businesses and light manufacturing. They pitched the commercial property as a redevelopment opportunity.
The BBJ reported that the current zoning would allow for a big-box store or a warehouse, matching the other businesses in the area. Auctioneers, however, declined to tell the BBJ whether the buyer plans to redevelop the strip club and motel or keep them open.
