Flash Flood Warning Issued For Baltimore County
Officials warn drivers to avoid flooded roads due to the potential for flash flooding in Baltimore County.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — As heavy rain drenches Baltimore County on Saturday night, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning.
The flash flood warning is in effect for parts of Baltimore County and Baltimore City from 8:34 to 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 2.
Officials issued the warning after 8:30 p.m. when radar showed 1.5 to 2 inches of rain had fallen, with another 1 to 2 inches possible in the warned area.

Flash flooding, or a rapid rise in water level, is possible for small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas, according to the National Weather Service.

- Linthicum
People in these locations should be especially careful at night, when it is more difficult to recognize flooding, officials said, and they should turn around if they see flooded roads.
Baltimore County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. and a flood watch until 10 p.m.
