Guatemalan Chicken Restaurant Opening Soon Outside White Marsh Mall

NOTTINGHAM, MD — Pollo Campero, a Latin American chicken restaurant, is opening soon outside the White Marsh Mall. This will be the chain's first location in Baltimore County.

The quick-service eatery will be located in the former Burger King space at 8233 Perry Hall Blvd. The stand-alone building neighbors the 7-Eleven gas station in the mall parking lot. The closest business attached to the mall is Buffalo Wild Wings.

The restaurant has been on foodies' watch lists since June. That's when County Council Member David Marks (R-Upper Falls) announced in the South Perry Hall Boulevard Improvement Association Facebook group that "permits have been applied for."

Patch asked Pollo Campero when it plans to open, but we have not yet heard back. We will update this article if the spokesperson replies.

White Marsh Mall has undergone some changes over the past year.

An entity of Spinoso Real Estate Group acquired the mall from Brookfield Properties for $190 million in October 2024.

That November, the recently sold mall announced that Pollo Campero was on its way.

In the same announcement, the mall said Kanji Sushi would open a sit-down restaurant in the food court in the former Greene Turtle. Kanji Sushi was open by this July.

Across the food court, The Original Pancake House opened in the former Red Robin by April 2025.

Pollo Campero will offer fried and roasted chicken. There will also be empanadas and sandwiches. Refreshments will include horchata and mango juices.

Pollo Campero was founded in Guatemala in 1971.

"To us, Campero means flavor," the restaurant's website says. "A deep, rich and unique taste that can only be obtained by uniting the freshest ingredients with the best, complementary spices. It's about combining generations of family recipes into the perfect, savory bite."

This will be Maryland's 11th Pollo Campero. The other locations are in:

• Annapolis Mall.
• Bethesda (Westfield Montgomery mall).
• Columbia (The Mall in Columbia).
• Frederick.
• Gaithersburg.
• Hyattsville.
• Laurel.
• Langley Park.
• Wheaton.
• Westfield Wheaton mall.

Pollo Campero has been expanding statewide. The locations at the malls in Annapolis and Wheaton opened this year.
