Horse Tramples Woman In Gunpowder State Park: Officials

A horseback riding accident near Perry Hall sent a woman to shock trauma on Saturday afternoon, officials said.

PERRY HALL, MD — After a person was injured while horseback riding Saturday near Pot Rocks at Gunpowder Falls State Park, authorities said a medevac was called.

A woman had been thrown from and trampled by a horse near the 9800 block of Anvil Court, after a dog had spooked the equine around 1 p.m., according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Before 1:20 p.m., the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company reported its crews, including an ATV, were working on a rescue in the woods following a horseback riding accident. The Baltimore County Fire Department and White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company were at the scene as well.

The victim was flown in serious but stable condition to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, Baltimore County fire officials reported.
