Man Running Across Country Travels Through Perry Hall: Report

A marathon runner hit the pavement in Perry Hall on one of the final legs of his journey across the United States.

PERRY HALL, MD — A Virginia man who ran from coast to coast traveled through Perry Hall this week on one of the final stretches of his journey.

Mike Wardian, known as an "ultra marathon runner," was in Perry Hall Thursday morning, nearly two months after starting his run in San Francisco on May 1, according to WUSA.

While in the Baltimore metropolitan area, he stopped at the Baltimore Cemetery on North Avenue and Camden Yards:

Next, he kicked into high gear at the Conowingo Dam for a 24-hour finale, running to Rehoboth Beach, Del., where he finished his trek around 6 a.m. on Friday.

Wardian is raising money through his run for World Vision International, which provides drinking water for people around the globe. His goal was to raise $100,000; and as of Friday morning, he had raised nearly $106,000. Here is the donation page.
