Councilman Marks Pledges Blighted Building Will Come Down Soon

Find out which structure—may—come down first.

County Councilman David Marks has been working closely with the owners of two Perry Hall properties that have been slated for demolition for months now.

It should come as no surprise, the two properties are the shell of the Poor Little Rich Girl bridal boutique near the intersection of Joppa and Belair Roads, and the Regester Square Shopping Center, a blighted strip of business fronts that have been boarded up.

"Both will be demolished, hopefully by the end of July, once permits are issued," Marks said in a statement, originally posted to his Facebook page. "The owner of Regester Square just got a landscape plan approved for the new retail area he will construct, and now needs a sediment plan approved.

"The owner of Poor Little Rich Girl is working to close a sewer connection," he continued. "Believe me, I remain in constant contact with both owners because the properties stand out as we beautify the rest of Downtown Perry Hall."

Demolition for Poor Little Rich Girl has been delayed since December 2012.
