School Overcrowding Improving In This Baltimore County District
Overcrowding is improving in this Baltimore County school. Its longstanding classroom trailers, intended to be temporary, will be removed.

PERRY HALL, MD — Perry Hall Middle School is removing the last of its classroom trailers this week.
The temporary trailers were a cost-efficient way to add space as enrollment grew.
"It's another sign that overcrowding has been eliminated from this school with the construction of Nottingham Middle School and the expansion of Pine Grove Middle School," County Council Member David Marks (R-Upper Falls) said on Facebook. "The new principal, Justin Benjamin, has been a breath of fresh air. Lots of good things happening!"

Last month, Baltimore County Public Schools cut the ribbon on the new addition and extensive renovations at Pine Grove Middle School. The three-year project added another 16,787 square feet of state-of-the-art learning space. The improvements increased the capacity by 158 seats and modernized the 1974-era school.
"As an aside, there are many schools where the decision has been made to retain trailers even when they are undercapacity, such as Chapel Hill Elementary School," Marks said. "Perry Hall High School's enrollment is barely above 100 percent and projected to fall."
