Route 40 was closed for more than four hours on Thursday, state transportation officials reported.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Fallen wires shut down US 40 in Baltimore County for hours on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
A dump truck hit a power line, resulting in the utility line crossing both the truck and Pulaski Highway, according to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company, which responded to the incident along with the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company. Some people in the area reported losing power briefly.
Route 40 was closed from Jones Road to Joppa Farm Road, the Maryland State Highway Administration reported after 2:30 p.m. As an alternate route, officials suggested taking MD 7/Philadelphia Road.
