AARP Defensive Driving Course

Friday, August 2                            8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Cost is $12 for AARP Members & $14 for Non Members. Call your insurance agent to see if you qualify for a discount for taking this class.

 

Craft Creations: Patriotic Door Wreaths

Monday, August 5                    9:30 am – 11:30 am

Join Bonnie Davidson and make your own Patriotic wreath to take home. All supplies are provided. Cost is $10 in advance

 

Bingo        

Tuesday, August 6 & 20                  12:30 pm

Ann Knoerlein calls out the lucky numbers for afternoon Bingo with cash prizes, cost $7.00. The Eating Together Program will provide lunch at noon prior to Bingo, sign up at the front desk where the menu is available.

 

M & T Bank: Identity Theft

Tuesday, August 6                           10:00 am

Learn steps you can take to protect your identity so you don’t become a victim. Please sign up at the front desk in advance.

 

Good Timers Dance

Wednesday, August 7                2-3 pm

Join the popular Good Timers for a mid afternoon dance. Enjoy dancing to your favorite tunes or just sit back and enjoy. We’ll serve watermelon & lemonade. Advance RSVP’s requested at the front desk.

Ice Cream Social & Magic Show

Tuesday, August 13                  12:30 pm

Bring the grandkids to the Center for an afternoon of fun! We’ll have “make your own ice cream sundaes” with all the toppings followed by an entertaining show by Magic Jack. Please sign up in advance at the front desk or call to RSVP.

 

Seated Massage        

Tuesday, August 13 & 27      9:30-11:30 am      

Would you like to reduce stress, relax muscles, increase circulation and decrease pain?  An eight minute massage costs $5.00; appointments available at the front desk.

 

FSQ Presents: Diabetes

Learn about the signs and symptoms and how to prevent/manage diabetes. Presented by Franklin Square Hospital.

Marlene Strobel, beads master, will be offering a jewelry making class. Cost is $5 in advance per class and this includes all supplies. Sign up in advance at the front desk.         

Crab Feast

Friday, August 23                    5-8 pm

Bill’s Seafood & Catering will once again provide the #1 steamed crabs and all the fixings: homemade crab soup, corn on the cob, hot dogs w/ sauerkraut, fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, Italian meatballs, coleslaw, pasta salad, watermelon, chips, sheet cake, soda, and ice tea. Computer Troubleshooting

Don’t take a hammer to your new computer! Let Alvin Miller help you! Topics to be discussed will include: Check event, restore point and delete program procedures. Sign up at the front desk.

Council Meeting

Monday, August 26                  12:30 pm

Council  meetings will now be held every other month. The meeting is held to inform members of what is happening at the center, obtain member input and vote on various topics that may arise. All members are highly encouraged to

attend these meetings.  A super special lunch will be served at Noon. Sign up by 8/21 for lunch.
