The one-lane bridge has a wooden deck and a metal truss.

HistoricBridges.org says the 92-foot crossing was built in 1879 and refurbished in 2006. The bridge runs over the Carroll Branch stream, which connects with Big Gunpowder Falls.

Crews were removing debris Monday evening from a tree that fell on the bridge, Maryland Department of the Environment spokesperson Jay Apperson told The Baltimore Banner. Apperson told The Banner that a crane will be necessary to remove the septic truck, and the MDE will reinspect afterward to ensure the truck's tanks didn't leak.
