Gas Station Known For Sandwiches Opening In Baltimore County

A gas station known for its sandwiches is opening its 10th location in Baltimore County. There will be free T-shirts and coffee.

NOTTINGHAM, MD — Wawa is opening a new gas station and convenience store Thursday in Nottingham.

The store spans 5,500 square feet at 8100 Belair Road. It has 12 gas pumps and employs 40 workers.

"We’re thrilled to open our doors in Nottingham," Wawa spokesperson Monica Ricci told Patch in a Wednesday email. "There are now ten Wawa stores in Baltimore County. In total, Wawa has more than 70 stores open in Maryland and Washington D.C."

The festivities start at 7:45 a.m. with Wawa General Manager Micheal Elliott counting down the opening. Doors open at 8 a.m.

The first 100 customers will get free T-shirts. There will also be free any size hot coffee through Sunday.

A grand opening ceremony is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. There will be a parade of Wawa team members and a ribbon-cutting with mascot Wally Goose. The event will also feature a Hoagies for Heroes sandwich-making competition between the Baltimore County Police and Fire Departments.
