NORTH EAST, MD (March 10, 2022) – AAA Mid-Atlantic presented Corporal Annette Goodyear of the North East Police Department with a Life Saving Award, the club’s highest honor, last evening, during the North East Town Board Meeting in North East, Maryland.

On February 4, 2022, Corporal Goodyear was conducting crossing guard duties when she pulled North East Middle School student, Violet Watt out of harm’s way of an approaching car, and was subsequently struck herself, saving the life of the student.

“At AAA, we have long-standing partnerships with the law enforcement community and have great respect and appreciation for our police officers and the dangers they face every day,” said AAA Mid-Atlantic’s Public and Government Affairs Manager, Ragina Cooper Ali, who is also a former Baltimore Police Officer. “While you may consider your actions as simply doing your job, we applaud you for your quick and selfless actions in saving the life of a young student,” Ali added.
