One of 50 students across the region recognized this year for academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement.

NORTH EAST, Md: Stephanie Hutchison Maahs, a dedicated Nursing student at Cecil College, has been selected as a recipient of a $2,500 scholarship from the Dunkin’ Baltimore/Metro DC Regional Scholarship Program. Ms. Maahs first learned about the opportunity through an email from Cecil College's Director of Student Life, Cheryl Davis-Robinson, which included a link to the application. Encouraged to apply, Ms. Maahs shared how this scholarship will ease the financial burden of nursing school, especially as she prepares to leave her job to complete her intensive clinical training.
Ms. Maahs chose Cecil College on the strong recommendation of her manager Anita Witzke, MDN, RN, NE-BC, the Director of Patient Care Services at Bayhealth Medical Center – Kent Campus, who spoke highly of the college’s nursing program. Now enrolled and working toward her nursing degree, Ms. Maahs is on a path to achieving her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse and serving her community.
