Those in Cecil County are assisting in the response to the shooting in Perryman.

CECIL COUNTY, MD — In the aftermath of the deadly shootings in Perryman, Cecil County Cecil Executive Alan McCarthy says he is "saddened and outraged" by the tragedy. Multiple people were killed and injured as the result of a shooting in the Rite Aid distribution center, which is a little more than 10 miles from Perryville.

"Like many Cecil and Harford County residents, I am deeply saddened and outraged over the shooting incident that occurred in Aberdeen, Maryland, this morning," McCarthy said.

"I personally reached out to County Executive Barry Glassman a short time ago," McCarthy said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

"Cecil County Government, Cecil County Sheriff's Office and the Cecil County Department of Emergency Services will continue to provide support and assistance to neighboring Harford County as the details of this horrendous tragedy unfold," McCarthy said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families and also with the first responders who are on the scene."

Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said that he could confirm there were multiple wounded and multiple fatalities. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Agency, ATF, Maryland State Police, Natural Resources Police and the municipal police departments from Aberdeen, Havre de Grace and Bel Air were some of the agencies he named that assisted.
