Elkton, MD: The Cecil Grown Harvest Dinner is set to be held at The Wellwood in Charlestown on Thursday, October 7. Each fall, the Cecil County Office of Economic Development coordinates a dinner to celebrate and showcase the diversity of agriculture in the County.
The menu for this year’s dinner has been curated by Larry Metz and his team at The Wellwood. It will include a delicious three-course, buffet-style, farm-to-table meal. The feast will feature dishes prepared using locally sourced vegetables, fruits, and meats; some of which will be infused with local wines and beers. Plus, for the first time, the Cecil County School of Technology will be a participating producer providing chickens raised by students.
All are welcome to celebrate Cecil County’s bountiful harvest and show support of our farming community that provides us with healthy local food year after year. The proposed menu (subject to modification) can be viewed at www.cecilcountyag.org.
Tickets are $50 per person and must be purchased in advance at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cecil-grown-harvest-dinner-2021-tickets-166800174813?aff=ebdsoporgprofile. Non-alcoholic beverages are included in the ticket price. There will be a full cash bar featuring craft beverages from local wineries and breweries.
Sponsors include Cecil County Farm Bureau, Inc. (platinum), Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union (gold), MidAtlantic Farm Credit (gold), Comcast Business (silver), and the Upper Shore Regional Council (silver).
