Open House at Herman & Walter Samuelson Breast Care Center

An open house Oct. 14 at the Herman & Walter Samuelson Breast Care Center at Northwest Hospital will include a free breast-health risk assessment.

Recently the breast care center was been granted a three-year accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), according to a news release from LifeBridge Health, the hospital's parent company.

The program is administered by the American College of Surgeons.

A center achieving NAPBC accreditation offers patients "every significant advantage in their battle against breast disease," the release states.

“This accreditation ensures that we follow the highest standards of comprehensive care and treatment for patients with diseases of the breast,” Dawn Leonard, M.D., breast surgeon and medical director of the center, said in the news release.
