UPDATE: Storms, Damaging Winds Possible Sunday, Tornado Warning Expired

Take cover immediately, according to the National Weather Service.

UPDATE (2:30 p.m.) -- There's a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 2:45 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The warning includes Baltimore City and Southern Baltimore County.

In addition, severe storms are bringing winds of 40-50 mph to Baltimore County, including in Owings Mills, Reisterstown, Hampstead and Chester, according to an NWS special weather statement.

(1:20 p.m.) A severe storm that the National Weather Service said could have produced a tornado, began passing through Pikesville at about 1:10 p.m. Sunday.

The tornado warning is now over, but a hazardous weather outlook remains in effect through tonight.

It calls for thunderstorms with heavy downpours and possible flash flooding.

Also, one of these storms could produce damaging winds this afternoon through evening.

This hazardous weather outlook is for areas in Maryland near the Chesapeake Bay, Central Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington D.C.

There's a severe storm that could produce a tornado moving over western Baltimore County, near Pikesville, according to the National Weather Service.

Affected areas could include Glyndon, Boring, Butler, Upperco, a tornado warning states.

The National Weather Service advises taking cover now, by moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

Avoid windows.

If you're outside or in a mobile home or vehicle, "move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris," according to the warning.

"This tornado may be wrapped in rain and hard to see," it states.

The warning ends at 1:15 p.m.
