White Out the Summer at Woodholme Country Club

There's no party in Pikesville like a Friends of the Israel Defense Forces Young Leadership event.

Late-night Aug. 25, the group will hold a Summer White Party at .

Music, dancing, and circus acts aimed at entertaining people ages 25-45 will be on tap, said Avi Werdesheim, vice chairman for Young Leadership.

Young Leadership, led by Avi's brother, Eli Werdesheim, chairman, is a group that helps develop young people into supporters of the Friends of the IDF, headquartered in Pikesville.

There's also a VIP event beforehand during which attendees can meet with former Maryland Gov. Bob Ehrlich, Avi Werdesheim said.

Ehrlich, a Republican, will present his stance on Israel and give a pitch for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, governor of Massachussetts, Werdesheim said.

The event will also honor Zach Alter, a alum who flew over to Israel by himself to join the IDF, where he served 1.5 years in the foreign service, Werdesheim said.

Tickets cost $75 each for the VIP Scotch tasting pre-party, set from 9:30-10:30 p.m., including top-shelf bar all night long.

And it's $36 apiece for tickets to the official party from 10:30 p.m. Aug. 25 to 2:30 a.m. Aug. 26, which includes basic level beer and wine.

"We try to connect the business and personal ambitions of young people with that charitable organization," Werdesheim said of the Young Leadership.

The FIDF raises money to provide humanitarian aid to men and women and their families who serve in the IDF.

"Young leadership's goal is to raise money, but also to create a strong base of young people who are cognitive of the organization," he said.

The IDF protects the territory of Israel, its population and the values the country represents, , VT, said during an FIDF fundraising event last year.

Last year, Young Leadership's drew more than 300 people to the for a lively evening of dancing and Chinese food.
