Interest in candidates for county Board of Education high

14 candidates are competing in the May 14 primary election to run for three seats on the Montgomery County Board of Education

Interest in public school policy in Montgomery County is incredibly high and is reflected in the large number (14) of candidates running in the May 14 primary election for the chance to be on the ballot in November, when three members will be elected to the Board of Education. Whether or not you are a parent, public education impacts all who live in the county. On Thursday, April 11, the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County will be sponsoring a virtual forum with candidates running for the Board of Education. The forum will be from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Eleven nonprofits are co-sponsoring the event, including the Montgomery County Council of PTAs and the NAACP-Montgomery County. Co-sponsors will be submitting questions for each candidate. Tonia Bui, co-Founder of AA MOVE -- Asian Americans Mobilize, Organize, Vote & Empower, will moderate the discussion. For more information, go to lwvmocomd.org to register.
