Potomac McDonald's Avoids Closure After Successful Petition
"We did it! McDonald's will be staying thanks to all of you," the owner of the petition shared in an update.

POTOMAC, MD — After nearing permanent closure, a Potomac McDonald's eatery has been saved thanks to a petition on change.org that gathered at least 2,600 signatures.
Kari Swenson, the reported owner of the Cabin John Village franchise, shared the news Saturday on Facebook.
"I honestly cannot believe I am saying this, but I think the community pressure and the petition WORKED!!!! The landlord called and was eager to sign with us. We are staying open," she wrote.

WTOP News reported Sunday that McDonalds, a Potomac staple, was set to close in December after failed discussions with Edens, which owns the shopping center.
A petition began on Nov. 9, garnering enough signatures to keep the beloved restaurant open. Wendy Fink, who started the petition, expressed excitement on the matter.

"We did it," Fink wrote in an update. "McDonald’s will be staying thanks to all of you!!! Big huge thank you to each and every one of you for signing, spreading the word and making it happen!"
