Bites Nearby: Busyboys and Poets
You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Riverdale Park-University Park Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out.

If for some reason you haven't made it over to the Busboys and Poets that opened in Hyattsville a little over a month ago, you should, especially now that the dog days of summer are drawing to a close and their outdoor seating may only be out there through October.
In general, Busboys and Poets, really doesn't have anything on their menu that I wouldn't suggest - from their sides of sweet potato fries, to their sandwiches, pizza and entrees, it's all basically good, but here are the things on the menu that a phenomenal and are things you should try on your next visit.
Vegetarian options like their falafel or sweet fuji apple and gorgonzola sandwiches are great for anyone - including meat eaters. I promise you won't miss the meat with the intense flavors especially from the fig and gorgonzola on the apple sandwich.

As for those who don't have dietary restrictions, try the Mediterranean burger -- juicy, lightly spiced, and fun to eat.
The shrimp and crab fritters are yummy too and their tandoori chicken dish will satisfy your Indian food craving - hits the mark on subtle heat, sweet and it's filling. The new Indian restaurant coming to the arts district - Spice6 - will have a run for its money.

Finally, if you have room for dessert, and I highly suggest you save one small portion of your stomach for that (sharing is feasible) - you have the try their white chocolate bread pudding or their vegan cheesecake. I promise either way you pick, you won't miss the sweet and with the cheesecake, it's nearly impossible to tell it doesn't have cheese. Seriously.
