Man Bites Police Officer During Arrest In Domestic Violence Incident
A Hyattsville police officer arresting a man wanted in a domestic violence incident ended up being bit by the suspect.
HYATTSVILLE, MD — A police officer was bit by a suspect in a domestic violence incident while the officer was trying to arrest the man.
The incident happened Dec. 3 around 10:26 p.m. Hyattsville police officers were called to the 3400 block of East-West Highway for a report of a domestic violence incident. While at the scene, a man involved in the incident ran from an apartment. A police officer found the man in Heurich Park and when law enforcement tried to take him into custody, he resisted and began fighting with the officers, police reported.
The man bit a police officer, which prompted the officer to use his Taser on the suspect. The man eventually was detained but continued to struggle with law enforcement as he was placed in the cop car. He was taken to the hospital for treatment then to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro.
