Police: Man Arrested in Bowie State University Armed Robbery

Jonathan Harris and another suspect allegedly robbed two individuals at gunpoint, PGPD reports.

Thousands of dollars worth of electronics and other items were stolen during a Bowie State University incident, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Jonathan Harris is charged with Armed Robbery, Robbery, Assault First Degree, Assault Second Degree, Firearm use in a Felonious Violent Crime, and Theft over $1,000 but under $10,000.

A warrant from the campus police claims the suspects entered a dorm room on Dec. 17 and forced two individuals to turn around at gunpoint. They then allegedly robbed the victims of two laptops, wallets, an IPOD Touch II, and a PlayStation 4. The suspects exited the building through the stairwell with the backpack full of stolen items, according to police.

A campus police officer approached two males who matched the description of the suspects, according to the warrant. The one carrying the backpack, later identified as Harris, ran into the woods and dropped the bag.

The Prince George’s County Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division obtained the warrant from campus police on Dec. 23. Police arrested Harris in Oxon Hill after determining his location was 1300 block of Iverson Street.
