Powerball Raised to $300 million for Saturday's Drawing

Citing nationwide sales, Powerball officials on Friday raised the jackpot for Saturday’s drawing.
The jackpot jumped from $290 million to $300 million, with a $172.7 million cash option, Maryland Lottery officials announced. The drawing will be held Saturday night and air at 11:22 p.m. on WJLA-TV.

If you’re feeling lucky, the odds of matching the five winning numbers and the Powerball are 175,223,510 to 1, according to the game’s website. That’s less than the odds of picking a perfect March Madness bracket (13,460,000 to 1), getting a hole in one (5,000 to 1) or being struck by lightning (3,000 to 1).
