What's Open, Closed in Prince George's County New Year's 2015

Some county offices and services will not be running on the Jan. 1 holiday.

Prince George’s County government offices will be closed on Jan. 1 for New Year’s. Specific facilities and operations are noted below.

Government offices and services, and their holiday hours, are:

  • Animal Services Facility: Closed
  • Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill: Closed
  • Brown Station Road Public Convenience Center: Closed
  • Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site: Closed
  • Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site: Closed
  • Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center: Closed
  • Prince George’s County Yard Waste Composting Facility: Closed
  • Bulky Trash Collection: No Collection
  • Trash Collection in County-Contracted Areas: No Collection
  • Curbside Recycling Collection: No Collection

TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation, will not operate on Jan. 1. Regular service operations will resume on Jan. 4.

In addition, the County’s Para-Transit and Call-A-Bus service will not operate on Jan. 1. Regular service operations of the Para-transit services and Call-A-Bus will resume on Jan. 4.

The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement will be closed on Jan. 1. Normal business hours will resume on Jan. 4.

Prince George’s County Click 3-1-1 will also be closed on Jan. 1 and will return to normal operations on Jan. 4. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online.
