Airbnb Renters Tied Up In Home Invasion In Rockville: Reports

Two people who rented a Rockville home through Airbnb were tied up during a home invasion robbery, according to reports.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Two people who rented a Rockville home through Airbnb were tied up by about ten robbers inside the home earlier this month, according to reports.

Bethesda Magazine reports the victims rented a single-family home in the 1800 block of Piccard Dr. on Jan. 15. They woke up to about nine men and one woman inside the house.

The suspects allegedly tied the renters up and stole cell phones, TVs, watches, clothing, money and a car from the home, Bethesda Magazine says. Police said the stolen car belonged to the renters, as did many of the items the robbers took.

The renters were able to free themselves about five hours later and call the police.

So far, the stolen car has not been recovered. Officer Rick Goodale told Bethesda Magazine police are investigating how accurate the story is.
