• Donor pays off the debt for more than 80,000 school meals in a Maryland county (spokesman.com) — Montgomery County Public Schools’ headquarters in Rockville just received a $230,000 donation to wipe out about two years of school meal debt for low-income students. The gift, from DARCARS’ education foundation partners, will cover roughly 82,000 meals and ease costs for families in the FARM program and others struggling to pay. Local leaders say it’s a major boost against student food insecurity.
