Geneva Day School Set to Have a (Birthday!) Ball through its Annual Fall Festival and Sixtieth Anniversary

All Are Invited

Fall Festival and Geneva's Birthday :: Enchantment in our Collective Cauldron!
Fall Festival and Geneva's Birthday :: Enchantment in our Collective Cauldron! (Geneva GPA)

This Saturday, Geneva Day School's Annual Fall Festival is set to double its enchantment through the celebration of its sixtieth birthday, having been founded in 1965.

"(Attendance) is a great way to welcome new families to Geneva and to celebrate existing families," states Geneva GPA President, Mrs. Glenda Fu Smith. "This is such a warm and wonderful environment."

Per tradition, the Festival's live music, games, and "spooky bake sale" will complement the thrill of a bounce-house, face painting, and pony rides. The invitation to create harvest art and select pumpkins from the innovative sprawl of a "recreated pumpkin patch" promise to pack punch with the young (and the young at heart).

Many generations will attend. Grandparents, parents (both new and returning), and their children (some are currently enrolled at the school and others have matriculated) will join Geneva's festive Maryland Green School grounds, specially decorated for the occasion.

"What Geneva has created is a great environment for new and returning families," describes Mrs. Smith. "It is wonderful to make new friends, yet also great to see the kids who have already graduated come back!"

Such intergenerational fanfare provides perspective as the school achieves its important milestone of 60 years of "encouraging a lifelong love of learning." Little ones will engage in sensory discovery through tried-and-true games and activities while parents will have the opportunity to chat.

"Parents get a chance to network," explains Mrs. Smith, who always sees this as a positive.

Moreover, "we speak to parents about upcoming events," she states.

Significantly, Geneva will offer a free cake-pop to each attendee of the Festival, planned for distribution from a "birthday table" where icing will be of the school's motif colors, green and gold. Such cake-pops are set to seal the deal for "royally good times."

In the words of enthusiastic Geneva staff, its devoted GPA, and other hands who assist in the conjuring of this afternoon of enchantment, "be sure to come. . . And bring your family and friends!"
