Rockville Rape Suspect Also Robbed Bank: MoCo Police
A D.C. man is being held on charges after police said he raped a lone gas station employee in Rockville, then robbed a bank in Wheaton.
ROCKVILLE, MD — Authorities say a Washington, D.C., man who is accused of attacking and raping a gas station employee in Rockville then robbed a Wheaton bank the next morning.
Carlos St. James Hover, 34, of D.C. was arrested by Montgomery County Police about 9:23 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at the Capital One Bank in the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue. According to police, the armed suspect was still at the robbery scene.
Detectives says that just after 7 p.m. on Aug. 14, Hover entered a Rockville gas station where an employee was alone. A police news release said Hover physically attacked, and sexually assaulted, the lone employee before leaving in a Mazda SUV.

Investigators said the assailant wore distinctive clothing.
Robbery detectives realized Hover matched the description of the suspect from the previous night's sexual assault. Hover had driven a Mazda SUV to the bank and was wearing some of the same distinctive clothing. He also matched the suspect seen in surveillance video taken at the gas station.

Hover was taken to the Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree assault, armed robbery, resisting arrest, and related crimes.
He is being held without bond.
