Wegmans Confirms Opening Date For Rockville Store

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Wegmans store will open in Rockville's Twinbrook Quarter Community on June 25, the grocery chain said.

The Rockville Wegmans is an 80,000-square-foot store and will hire more than 500 part- and full-time positions.

The Rockville site will be Wegmans' ninth store in Maryland. The location will include two levels of parking below the store; Wegmans shoppers will get 90 minutes of free parking.

The Rockville team is hiring and training for various entry-level management to customer service positions in bakery, produce, overnight grocery and culinary roles such as chefs and line cooks. Hiring for part-time positions will begin at a later date.

The store at 1590 Rockville Pike will employ about 400 people, with most being new hires from the local area, the company said.

The store will feature the traditional departments Wegmans customers expect, including restaurant foods (sushi, pizza, chef-made salads, and sandwiches), a produce department with hundreds of types of fruits and vegetables, and a variety of seafood, meat, bakery, deli, and cheese options. There will be drive through curbside loading lanes for all online grocery and Meals-To-Go order pickups.

Store hours will be 6 a.m. to midnight daily.
