87-Year-Old Rockville Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Silver Spring Crash
Montgomery County detectives said Randall Dwight Gibson, 87, of Rockville was in the roadway, not crosswalk, when a car fatally struck him.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County detectives are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian from Rockville.
According to police, around 4:36 a.m. Friday, officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded to the area of Georgia Avenue and Rossmoor Boulevard for a report of a pedestrian struck by a car.
Detectives said they determined that the pedestrian was in the roadway, and not in a crosswalk, when he was struck by a blue 2016 Kia Optima traveling southbound on Georgia Avenue.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pedestrian has been identified as Randall Dwight Gibson, 87, of Rockville.
