Cyclist, Pedestrian Killed In Separate Crashes In Montgomery County
Montgomery County police said the collisions occurred less than 24 hours apart.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A bicyclist and a pedestrian were killed in two separate crashes in Montgomery County that occurred less than 24 hours apart, according to police.
The first collision between the adult male cyclist and an SUV occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday in the 15200 block of New Hampshire Avenue.
The cyclist was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene.

The second collision occurred shortly before 6:15 a.m. Friday when a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the area of Georgia and Silver Spring avenues.
The pedestrian was also taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Both incidents remain under investigation. Names of the victims will be released following notification of family, police said.
