Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting Of Silver Spring Rideshare Driver

SILVER SPRING, MD — Police have arrested a man accused of fatally shooting a rideshare driver from Silver Spring.

Kiayon Strowbridge, 21, of Temple Hills has been charged with first and second-degree murder, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police said Strowbridge is responsible for the killing of 55- year-old Nesredin Esleiman of Silver Spring.

On Wednesday around 6:20 a.m., police said they were called to the 5400 block of Chesterfield Drive for a welfare check. Once on scene, officers located Esleiman inside of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said Esleiman was working as a rideshare driver at the time of his killing.

The motive of the shooting was an attempted robbery, according to police.

Police said Strowbridge is in jail on a no-bond status.
