2. YOU SAID IT >> Patch asks about pedestrian safety in Silver Spring. Here’s one commenter’s take:


"All the NO TURN ON RED signs at most downtown Silver Spring intersections make things worse for pedestrians and put cars and pedestrians in the same space at the same time. If the cars could turn on red, most of the time they'd be done making their turns through the crosswalks when the pedestrians start crossing. The signs make it less safe for pedestrians, not safer; they should be removed except where sight lines are bad."
