Elementary School Aide Arrested On Child Porn Charges

A temporary lunch aide​ at a Montgomery County elementary school was arrested on child pornography charges at his Silver Spring home.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A former lunch aide in a Montgomery County school has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, Maryland State Police announced.

Sean Renfrew Kelley, 30, of Silver Spring was arrested at his home early Friday morning. He was charged with three counts of distribution of imagery of a minor engaged in sexual conduct and seven counts of possession of imagery of an individual under the age of 16 engaged in sexual conduct, police said.

Police said they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the possession and distribution of child pornography in July 2017. The investigation revealed the IP address used by the suspect was assigned to Kelley's address in Silver Spring.

NBC Washington reports that Kelley was a temporary part-time lunch aide at Cloverly Elementary School. He was also a former employee of the daycare Kids After Hours at Cannon Road Elementary School in Colesville.

Kelley was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Center Friday, where he was awaiting an appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
