Fatal Hit-And-Run Suspect Vehicle's Description Updated By Police

Montgomery County Police have updated the description of a pickup truck they're searching for in a fatal hit-and-run crash.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — Montgomery County Police on Monday updated the description of a pickup truck they're searching for in a fatal hit-and-run crash. Candido Noe Rojas Rojas, 42, of Takoma Park, died June 3 when he was hit by a truck in the 1100 block of University Boulevard East in Takoma Park.

Detectives said the crash was reported about 1:17 a.m., and Takoma Park Police officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel found the victim lying in the roadway with head injuries.

Rojas was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Office of the Medical Examiner Washington, D.C., conducted an autopsy and determined the injuries Rojas suffered were likely caused by a vehicle.

Investigators said a westbound vehicle hit Rojas and fled on Lebanon Street into Prince George’s County.

After reviewing additional video evidence, detectives have obtained a better description of the suspect’s vehicle, which is believed to be a 2014 to 2017, dark-colored, possibly black, Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Any damage to the vehicle would be found on the left side and would appear to be minor.
