Jerry’s Subs & Pizza Closes Last Site In MoCo: Report

SILVER SPRING, MD — The last Montgomery County location of Jerry’s Subs & Pizza has closed as of Tuesday, after planning to close by the end of January, reports said.

The restaurant chain once had more than 100 restaurants in the mid-Atlantic region.

The Jerry's Subs at 8517 Colesville Road in Silver Spring initially was set to shutter on Friday, Jan. 31, The MoCo Show reported. But, on Tuesday customers notified the website that the business was closed and phone calls went unanswered.

The venue was known for its pizzas, sandwiches, salads, calzones, and loaded Cheese Wiz fries, its website said.

The Jerry’s store in Burtonsville transitioned to Jeffrey’s and still offers a similar menu, The MoCo Show said, while the Aspen Hill Jerry’s began a move to Jay’s with a similar menu.

There are three Maryland sites still in business:

  • Dunkirk Market Place Plaza: 10290 Southern Maryland Blvd., Dunkirk
  • Solomon’s Island: 13962 HG Truman Road, Solomons Island
  • Maryland House: I-95, N. Travel Plaza Mile Marker 82, Aberdeen

The first Jerry’s Subs & Pizza opened in 1954 outside Washington, D.C.
