Missing DC Man Was Last Seen In Silver Spring, Police Say

Family has not been able to contact Matthew Wood, 33, since Aug. 16, police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Police are searching for a 33-year-old man missing in Silver Spring.

Matthew Wood was taken to an appointment at the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services building at 8818 Georgia Ave. by a family member for the morning of Aug. 16.

The family member and Wood made plans for Wood to use the Metro system to return to his family's home in Washington, DC, police said. His family has been unable to contact him since he was dropped off.

Wood does not have his necessary medication with him and police and family are concerned for his physical and emotional welfare.

Police describe Wood as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and is bald. Wood was last seen wearing a short sleeve t-shirt and patterned cargo shorts, police said.
