News in Review: Police Officer Involved in Shooting and Debate over Silver Spring Library Bridge

This week in Silver Spring a police officer was involved in a shooting after a dispute took place at City Place Mall, folk artists Noel Paul Stookey and Josh White Jr. rock the house inside Montgomery College’s Cultural Arts Center, and Patch crime summary map and sports highlights.

1. The debate over building a bridge for the new Silver Spring Library dominated the recent Silver Spring Citizens’ Advisory Board meeting. A diverse group of community members attended to voice their support for the bridge for a variety of reasons, from the potential positive impact on Fenton Village businesses and accessibility for the physically challenged to simple logistics for parents.
