No Charges Have Been Filed After Pedestrian Was Struck By Car: Police

A Silver Spring pedestrian died after he was hit by a car while crossing Georgia Avenue Saturday night. No charges have been filed.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring pedestrian who died after he was hit by a car while crossing Georgia Avenue Saturday night has been identified. No charges have been filed, police said.

Richard Patrick A. Parks, 55, of Silver Spring died as a result of the collision that occurred about 10 p.m. on northbound Georgia Avenue at Aspen Hill Road in Silver Spring.

Montgomery County Police said a 2024 Acura Integra was northbound through the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Aspen Hill Road when the driver struck Parks as he crossed the road.

Officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel found Parks in the road suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

The man driving the Acura remained on the scene with no reported injuries.

The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision. CRU detectives ask anyone who saw the accident to call 240-773-6620.
