Eisa Gouredou, a Silver Spring resident and member of the Maryland Writers Association, is preparing her debut novel, In the Shadow of Dreams. The story, set in Miami, follows two young French women chasing their American dream. While the book is not yet published, Eisa is a local creative voice whose story could make a compelling feature for Patch, highlighting the vibrant arts and literary talent in our community.

Discovery resurrects the largest shark to swim the oceans, <a href="http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/sharks/fossils/megalodon.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Megalodon</a>. This prehistoric shark weighed at least 100,000 pounds and could have grown to be about 60 feet long. During Friday's sneak preview at the Fountain Plaza, Shark Week fans can enjoy shark freebies.
