Police Identify Woman Killed In White Oak Stabbing

Police have identified the 23-year-old woman who was fatally stabbed by a man in White Oak Monday afternoon.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County police have identified the 23-year-old woman who was fatally stabbed by a man in White Oak Monday afternoon.

Authorities say Linh Ngoc Thai Pham was killed by 63-year-old man Biet Van Tran, of Balmoral Drive.

Around 3:22 p.m., police received a call from a resident in the 900 block of Balmoral Drive for a possible stabbing at a neighboring home.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found three victims. The two female victims had stab wounds, police said. The male sustained injuries related to an assault.

Pham was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other woman was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to authorities, and the man was treated by first responders at the scene.

All three victims were from Florida and had been staying at that residence on Balmoral Drive for the past few days, police said.

Tran was charged with first-degree murder and first-degree assault, according to authorities. He is being held without bond.

Authorities did not reveal a motive or additional details surrounding the deadly incident.
