Purple Line Construction Truck, Tools Stolen From Facility

Police are searching for a suspect who stole a truck and several tools used in construction for the Purple Line in Silver Spring.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Police are searching for a suspect who broke into a Silver Spring facility and stole a truck and several tools used in construction for the Purple Line.

The unknown suspect or suspects pried open a door to the building at 8800 block of Brookeville Rd. sometime between Dec. 22-27, police said.

A Ford F450 Stake Body truck and tools valued at several thousand dollars were stolen from the Purple Line Transit Constructors, LLC facility.

Detectives released a photograph of the stolen truck and ask anyone with information about the vehicle’s location or information about these crimes to come forward to police.

Anyone with information is urged to call police at 240-773-6710. To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment of the suspects. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
