Silver Spring-Takoma Park Restaurant Week is Underway, With Special Deals for Diners

Nearly 30 restaurants in Silver Spring and Takoma Park (plus one D.C. restaurant) are opening their doors and offering diners special deals this week for the second annual Restaurant Week.

From Tuesday, Sept. 6 through this Sunday, Sept. 11, participating restaurants are offering deals, discounts and special fixed-price menus in an effort to encourage people to try out new businesses and cuisines they may not have visited before.

The brainchild of Montgomery County Councilmember Tom Hucker, Silver Spring-Takoma Park Restaurant Week businesses will offer two-course lunches for $12 and three-course lunches for $17. Two-course dinners will be available for $17 and three-course dinners will be offered for $27.

Councilman Hucker said the variety of tastes and different ethnic cuisine being featured for Restaurant Week is diverse and exciting, and should offer something for every palate.

“The participating restaurants encompass the diversity of cuisine and culture that embody modern Silver Spring and Takoma Park—Cuban, Mexican, Ethiopian, Chinese, Korean, Nepalese, Vietnamese, Middle-Eastern, American and so much more," he said. "At such affordable prices, residents and visitors have a great incentive to come to Silver Spring and Takoma Park for the first time or for regular diners to try something new. ”
