Student Brings Knife, Ammo To Paint Branch High School
A student was arrested for bringing a pocket knife and six rounds of gun ammunition to Piney Branch High School Thursday.

(Updated at 5:55 p.m. Thursday): BURTONSVILLE, MD — A 16-year-old student was arrested for bringing a pocket knife and six rounds of gun ammunition to Paint Branch High School Thursday morning.
The student brought the knife and ammunition in a small, plastic sandwich bag, police said.
"During this investigation, officers received no information that indicated that the student had been in possession of a gun at school today," a police statement said.

Officers searched the school grounds and the male student’s home and did not locate any gun.
The student was transported to the police station and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon on school property. He was released to the custody of his guardian, police said.

The case will be referred to the Department of Juvenile Services for adjudication.
