Taxi Driver Robbed In Silver Spring, Suspect Caught On Video: PD

Montgomery County police are looking for a man they say robbed a taxi driver in Silver Spring on Tuesday.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A man accused of robbing a taxi driver in Silver Spring was caught on surveillance video, which Montgomery County police have released in hopes that the public can help identify him.

Around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, a Raitero taxi driver pulled up to the 2100 block Glenallan Ave. to pick up a customer traveling to the 12400 block of Connecticut Ave., police said. During the ride, the suspect ordered the driver to stop at the intersection of Fairly Street and Feldon Street.

Once the taxi came to a stop, the suspect stole a container of cash and fled the scene, police said. He was last seen on foot on Fairly Street.

Anyone with additional information should call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100 or the county's Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers may pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
