Teen Brings Stolen, Loaded Gun To Paint Branch High School
A teenager from Silver Spring was arrested for trespassing and bringing a stolen gun to Paint Branch High School Tuesday.

BURTONSVILLE, MD — A teenager from Silver Spring was arrested for trespassing and bringing a gun stolen from Pennsylvania to Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville Tuesday morning. On Thursday, a student was arrested for bringing a pocket knife and six rounds of gun ammunition to the school.
A school resource officer (SRO) was told a person who didn't go to the school fled from the building after trying to enter at about 11:30 a.m. The suspect allegedly gave a false name and false Montgomery County Public Schools identification number to security personnel before feeling, a police statement said.
The SRO and school security employee located Elijah C. Nyamekye, 17, walking on Briggs Chaney Road at Columbia Pike (Route 29). Nyamekye tried to flee the area when the SRO stopped to speak with him, but he was detained.

Police found a loaded .38 revolver inside a shoulder bag Nyamekye had. The SRO later determined that that revolver had been reported as stolen from Pennsylvania, police said.
Nyamekye was charged as an adult with possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm by a person under 21 years old, possession of a stolen handgun, trespassing on school property and disrupting school activities.
