Volunteer For Safe Silver Spring to Ensure Safe Community

Currently, Safe Silver Spring (SSS), a local nonprofit, is looking for interns and volunteers.

SSS takes on the responsibility of keeping the community aware of crime issues, educating the community on ways to stay safe and maintaining a relationship with Montgomery County Police officials.
Safe Silver Spring is looking for help with their fundraising efforts, grant writing, web design, data collection and/or analysis and pursuing various goals, such as youth programs, working with the police department, community groups and businesses.

Possible projects include:
Apartment Safety: Develop a set of measures that will lead to improvements in the safety and quality of life for apartment residents who live in low-income complexes.
Space Survey: Survey public and private organizations to determine what space may be available for teen programs.
Crime Survey: Conduct a survey to determine community experiences with crime, police, and neighborhood watches.
